Ah, Life. So crazy and unpredictable sometimes, huh?

So, a lot’s happened since Pocket Full of Tinder‘s release:

It made the New York Times bestseller list (wait, no — the New York Times discontinued its mass market and ebook lists);

James Patterson called to ask if I would partner with him on a project (wait, no — he is partnering with Bill Clinton… and myriad others besides me);

Amazon raised its royalty rate for indie authors (wait, no — it instituted a controversial new program that might discourage customers from buying new books);

I’ve written nearly 130,000 words in the next Noon Onyx novel and will have no trouble trimming the fat and releasing book #5 by mid-summer (wait, no — I’ve barely begun to write it, but still naively hope that I’ll be able to keep to my self-imposed publication schedule);

I’ve biked the entire Torrey C. Brown Rail Trail and the Heritage Rail Trail six times each now, for a grand total of 240 miles so far this year (wait, no — the only biking I’ve done was in Key West, although it was fun touring the island again via bike);

I’ve read nearly 100 books (wait, no — I’ve read a baker’s dozen and three were children’s books and one was Marie Kondo’s The Life Changing Magic of Tidying Up, which made me laugh but got me to purge approximately 50 bags of crap from my closets).

We have not one, but TWO bee hives now, and our first hive has swarmed not once, but TWICE. We are on par to surpass Burt’s Bees EBITDA before year end! (Okay, only that first sentence is true. No honey yet though.)

We bought a cow and are going to give Organic Valley a run for their milk (okay, not. Craig and I just happened to both pick up cream on the same night.)

E is going to be on Dance Moms. (Ack! No. But those are some of her costumes pictured above. This year’s dance season went well. She ended up performing her Red Like Roses solo enough times that we finally retired it.)

My family banned all tech devices — iPhones, Kindles, Apple TV, etc. (Ha! As if. We did decide, however, to do tech-free Sundays, which were inspired in part by my recent visit to Anthropologie where I picked up a copy of Unplug Every Day: 365 Ways to Log Off and Live Better. Got a kick out of the fact that, when I opened the book to a random page, the book’s advice was “Visit a Library.” Done… done… and done… 125x/year. πŸ˜€ )

I bought a Rita’s franchise! (Yeah, um, no. I did, however, buy my first 2017 kid-size wild black cherry gelati).

The Spice Cats say hi… and I’m passing along my recent good fortune to you: MAY YOU BE SUCCESSFUL IN YOUR WORK. YES, THERE IS SUCH A THING AS — HAPPY MONDAY!!!
